Squamish and Britannia Beach
Located on the traditional territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) at the northern tip of a glacially etched fjord on the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by a spectacular mountain backdrop and nestled within a temperate rainforest, Squamish is recognized worldwide for its culture, recreation and incredible mountain lifestyle.
A strong, vibrant and healthy community, Squamish is known for its world-class trails, rock climbing, consistent wind patterns, a relatively mild year-round climate, a healthy wildlife population, and proximity to ocean, mountains and rivers and is a sought-after destination for mountain bikers, hikers, rock climbers, kite and wind surfers, kayakers, ski tourers, wildlife viewers and backcountry enthusiasts alike.
This new community grant aims to celebrate what makes Squamish world-class while strengthening neighbourhoods and encouraging a sense of belonging among all members of the community.
Squamish Community Foundation and Neighbourhood Small Grants encourage community members from Squamish and Britannia Beach to apply for funding for projects that build on the theme ‘belonging’.
2019 applications are accepted from February 13th to April 9th 2018. You may apply online or contact your coordinator for a paper application.
