Come one, come all to the 3rd annual Apple Press Festival. Participants try their hand at crushing, grinding, and pressing apples. In addition, there are activities like an apple home-run derby, a pressing competition, and old-time games like corn-hole and juggling.The festival aims to bring the community together not only to celebrate the harvest, but to roll up their sleeves and actively participate in it. The Press Fest raises awareness of the great potential of local apples as a readily-available nutrient source, sweetener, fermenting ingredient, and all-around fantastic fruit.

The purpose of this event is to connect various ethnic newcomers to neighbours through a cycling. The event consists of two components. One is a workshop by instructor who is cyclist and neighbor as well. The workshop covers road safety and regulations for 2 hours. After that a on-road training will be followed. There will be a 2 hour round trip along the beach bicycle route and socialize together with lunch. Through the event, participants can have an opportunity to know how to bike safely and to connect with neighbours.

My name is Nur and I am 12 years old. I applied for a neighbourhood small grant from family services of greater Vancouver in New Westminster and Funded by Vancouver Foundation. This year was my second year to apply for 'The Fun Day for all the kids in New Westminster’.
