Our Queen Bizz Club welcomed five newly arrived families of Queen's Park neighborhood. They all came with spouse and children. That was a big success.

On a second meeting, our webmaster Shammi conducted a well awaited training session on How to Organize, Synchronize and Manage our computer, smart phone and tablet. We had all questions answered but admit we need another session yet.

The week after, the group addressed the Facebook challenge: let’s ‘make friends’ with Facebook!

If you are new in our neighborhood and you are a woman, send us a note and come join us.

The 501 Building @ 501 Pacific Street
July 13 2014

The 501 bulding, at Richards and Pacific in Yaletown, is a typical downtown high rise comprised of a townhouse complex and tower. There are 450 residents, both owners and renters. Highrise living has its many perks in Vancouver, but it is also widely recognized that community building in highrises faces many unique challenges. Residents often remark that it’s difficult to meet neighbours in such a large complex, and as most of these interactions are in the elevator, they are often brief and even awkward.

New Westminster Children's Centre
July 8 2014

The New Westminster Children's Centre provides therapy, support and resources to children with special needs and their families. One of the great things that the NWCC does is host a family picnic, where the families can interact, form friendships and find support. This year, thanks to the NSG, the families at NWCC were able to bring the Vancouver Tumble Bus, an amazing, revamped school bus that's been turned into a gym. Kids of all abilities and developmental levels were able to use the climbing wall, play in a ball pit and even go on a zipline.
