Saturday, May 31 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Kiwassa Neighbourhood House

Come learn the basics about how to help our pollinators, followed by a pollinator photography walk. Everyone attending will receive a pollinator seed package. Meet people in your community who are also interested in what we can do to benefit the bees! 

All ages and all levels of bee knowledge are welcome!

The Grandview Pollinator Project will be having events throughout the summer!

General Gordon Elementary School at 2896 West 6th Avenue

General Gordon Elementary School at 2896 West 6th Avenue is being replaced by a new, seismically-safe building due to open in September 2016.

On Saturday, June 7, 2014 there will be a ‘Goodbye Gordon’ celebration, inviting current students, alumni and the general community for one last opportunity to visit the 102-year-old school building.

Monthly Plastic Recycling night. Bring all the goodies that cannot be recycled in the City's Blue Bin program, including coffee cups, chip packers, milk and tetra packs, styrofoam, soft plastics.

Mha-puja is the worshipping of one's own body and mind. It is performed on the new year's day of Nepal Sambat, the national lunar calendar of Nepal. For the celebration, participants sit cross legged on the floor in front of their respective mandalas. Offerings are made to mandalas and the event ends with a full sit down dinner. The ceremony signifies an auspicious beginning of the new year and invokes prosperity and longevity for participants.
