Summer Soirée – Creating Condo Community

• Social committee gathers to transform the community courtyard into a welcoming and festive space for ALL residents who have RSVP’d to invitations slipped under the door of each suite.
• Small round cocktail tables and larger, lower, round tables with chairs are covered in draped pink table cloths. Fresh-cut flower arrangements adorn each table and later serve as door prizes. Additional door prizes are donated by business people in and around our community. Tents, donated by one resident are set up to cover drink and food tables.
4:30 – 6:00
• Guests are greeted at the registration table, receive name tags; are entered in the draw for door prizes; kids each receive a balloon on a string and a bottle of bubbles;
• Musicians entertain; kids play; neighbours mix and mingle;
• Caterers circulate offering hors-d’oeuvres, social committee tend the drinks table, and guests serve themselves at the catered buffet
• Strata president gives a community update, and door prizes are given out at intervals throughout the party.
6:00 – 7:30
• Several guests linger beyond 6:00 engaged in the fun of sharing with neighbours
• Some guests go out for dinner together.
• Social committee does clean-up, and s-l-o-w-l-y the magic of community gathering in celebration settles into a quiet yet vibrant energy permeating the courtyard.
POST PARTY
• BUZZ in the elevators as residents recount moments from the summer soirée; the informal promotion for the following year has already begun!
