It was a hot day and perfect for a barbeque with activities such as water pistols, paddling pool and hula hoops. The host discovered a neighbour who worked as a DJ and was happy to be in charge of music for the event.
The event was important to the community because lately there a been numerous burglaries. The neighbours were enthusiastic about the gathering and offered to contribute dishes and whatever help they could.
This block party has served to strengthen the families whose children were already playing together in the alley. The host expressed an interest to do another event in the future.
