We have in recent years had an infestation of Garden Weevil Bugs – a real pest doing damage to leaves , roots & plants.
As we did not want to use toxic chemicals in our organic garden, we used a safe “Biological Control” of “Good Bugs to fight Bad Bugs”.
With the help of NSG funding we were able to purchase the necessary
Microscopic worms – a natural enemy of our weevil pests.
This was applied by hand-watering the solution onto the entire surface of our garden with watering cans. We formed a group of enthusiastic volunteers & the task was successfully completed on a (preferred) rainy day as planned.
As we need to keep up our battle with Weevils , we need to continue treatment next year, as skipping a year will set us back . We hope to be awarded another NSG next year to continue our control efforts.
