‘Kaiso Day’ Japanese Style BBQ
A FREE neighbourhood event and mini street festival, featuring food, martial arts demonstrations, music and kids’ crafts!
When: Sunday, May 17th, from 12 noon to 4pm
Where: Outside the Mt. Pleasant Neighbourhood House, on Prince Albert St. at East Broadway.
Why: to celebrate and ‘give back’ to our great community!
Who: Hosted by Vancouver Shorinji Kempo* and Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House
* Shorinji Kempo is a Japanese martial art promoting development of oneself and a peaceful society through a practice for self-defense and health. Classes in Vancouver are offered at Trout Lake and Creekside Community Centres. This event honours the memory of Kaiso, the founder of Shorinji Kempo. www.shorinjikempobc.ca
