Mha-puja is the worshipping of one’s own body and mind. It is performed on the new year’s day of Nepal Sambat, the national lunar calendar of Nepal. For the celebration, participants sit cross legged on the floor in front of their respective mandalas. Offerings are made to mandalas and the event ends with a full sit down dinner. The ceremony signifies an auspicious beginning of the new year and invokes prosperity and longevity for participants.
