Newcomers’ Day
Are you new to Canada? If you are interested in connecting to the local community and meeting new people from all over the world, join us for Newcomers’ Day!
When? Friday, August 11th
Where? At Riley Park, on 30th and Ontario Street
How much? It’s free!
The event starts with an hour-long outdoor yoga class in the beautiful Riley Park at 2 pm. After which we will hold an info session at the Merakos Fieldhouse in Riley Park (95 E 32nd Ave), starting at 3 pm. We will answer any concerns, including hot topics such as how to find a place to live, how to get established in your neighborhood and how to find a job. We will also help you edit and get started on your resumes and other documents. All questions are welcome!
A good day always finishes with a nice dinner. We invite you to prepare and eat some delicious food together for a Canadian style barbecue from 5 pm onwards. There will be lots of food for everyone, with vegetarian options available.
Please drop in for any part of the day you are interested in – from yoga to dinner, everyone is welcome anytime!
