The Qayqayt Elementary School PAC (parent advisory council) and school administration hosted a party to help teachers, parents and students meet, establish and foster working relationships that support the health and education of the students and the school community. Our student body of nearly 500 consists of former John Robson Elementary Students (that school is being replaced with a new Middle School) and new students from the neighbourhood; including a significant immigrant population. Our students come from over 60 countries; creating an opportunity to celebrate and share that diversity in a supportive environment! We are working with the Qayqayt teachers and administrators to create an annual event that will bring parents, teachers and students together in September as a Welcome Back to School and Meet the Teachers event. The grant was used to pay for food.
