Major Matthews is a small 575 square metre park in Mount Pleasant. Bounded by Yukon, Main, 12th and Broadway, it is an important community gathering space.
A “Summer Fun Day” at Major Matthews will help neighbours get connected and engaged by having an afternoon to socialize, play games with kids, have arts/crafts + food.
The park is in the need of serious repair and new ideas for revitalization – including renewing a decaying playground, surface mats, as well as a gazebo. The event will also be a launching point for a survey to gather views from park users and residents.
