June 7, 2014 @ 12:00 am - September 7, 2014 @ 12:00 am

One day Meharoona Ghani was staring out her apartment looking over False Creek when she realized the three things she loves the most are: writing poetry, sharing her poems, and engaging in conversation with people. She decided to combine all three when she was inspired by a friend who took a photo of a poet writing poetry on the streets of Seattle. So Meharoona pitched the idea to her poet friends and her dream became a reality with NSG!

Imagine a blue-sky, sunny Vancouver day. You’re on the walkway from Science World to Granville St. Bridge near False Creek. You come across poets who invite you to approach them with a theme/word. They write a poem on the spot, recite it for you and gift it to you. What feeling would you walk away with: joy, belonging, connection? Please click on Vancouver Pop-Up-Poets for more details.

We will announce each pop-up as we reach closer to the date. Each time we gather it will be at 11:00 am.

Join us on June 7th from 11 am to 2 pm, in partnership 100 in 1 Day Vancouver, at 1 Athlete’s Way, near the bird sculptures for our launch. Look for colourful balloons. A live painter will join us along with a fabulous circle of poets and an interviewer and video crew to capture your responses.
