DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone.\nPlease be aware that space is limited to 6 atendees. Check the supplies list of what to bring.\nYou can RSVP here: http://evite.me/j2D4yf1G17 \nTopics covered include: drawing\, composition\, colour values\, colour mixing and paint application. By the end of this small workshop\, participants will have a better understanding of what makes a successful picture and how to go about creating one. In addition\, participants will develop increased observational skills\, confidence and technical ability in their respective medium. Participants are welcome to bring their own supplies or use whatever medium they prefer\, but the workshop will be in watercolor and gouache paint. Paper\, paint\, mixing palettes and water containers will be supplied\, and participants are encouraged to bring their own brushes\, however there will be several brushes on hand if attendees are unable to bring their own. Also bring a bottle of water to fill your jar\, and a lawn chair to sit & paint (or easel if you have one). Ideal participants will have some fundamental understanding of things like perspective and painting knowledge\, however all skill levels are welcome. Come prepared to learn and bring your passion for creating art from life! \nThis project will be taking place outdoors\, which will allow for fresh air. Participants will be asked to stay 6 feet apart and wear masks. My name is Maya and this is my community project to help us French Immersion students get ready for September! \nI am a French immersion high school student at Churchill Secondary and starting June 14th- July 31st I will be offering FREE thirty-minute French oral lessons for your kids aged 5-10. SUMMARY:Roaming Deer Murals
DESCRIPTION:The Roaming Deer of New Westminster is a series of public murals inspired by the deer that freely roamed the place we call home. The deer is considered to be a symbol of gentleness. The murals are a daily reminder for us to take care of each other and our environment. The deer are also messengers for public art. \nThe goal is to paint a Roaming Deer in each neighbourhood of New Westminster. Walking tours will be encouraged for residents to explore and visit different neighbourhoods in hopes of having their own deer sighting. \nThe Roaming Deer mural project is developed by New Westminster artist Cliff Blank. SUMMARY:Imperial Drive Neighbourhood Barbeque
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited about our upcoming NSG project\, slated for Sept. 17. We are planning a sit-down bbq with long tables where neighbours can get to know each other in a social\, friendly environment. We have arranged for a band and a speaker who will deliver a 15-minute talk on neighbourhood security. There will be a crafts table for young kids and a BBQ potluck dinner. The event has generated excitement and interest in the neighbourhood and we are not short of volunteers\, which is a great sign. We are grateful to the NSG grant administrators for the funding\, and for giving us the impetus to do this. It’s wonderful to know there is a foundation out there so committed to fostering good relationships in various neighbourhoods!
