We had a BlOCK BBQ party on Saturday July 25th at Beer Creek Park Surrey. The event started at 2pm and ended at 8pm. There were approximately 50 members participated in this event, including; children, adults and seniors.
We all enjoyed the BBQ party with singing, reading poems and sharing mutual experiences. This was a wonderful opportunity to have many community members in one place so that we could get to know each other more closely and discuss how we can make our community a vibrant, safe and peaceful place.
We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Vancouver Foundation and Oak Avenue Neighbourhood Hub Society for providing us the grant to host this event. Our specials thanks to Nicole Ensing – Program Coordinator of Oak Avenue Neighbourhood Hub Society for her cooperation to apply for the small grant and to make this event a great success.

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
