I hosted a party to bring in the New Year and celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday on Dec 31st from 11am – 1:30pm at Burnaby 8 Rinks (Canlan).
We had over 100 people attend, with approximately 70 people on the ice. We had 50+ kids skating and roughly 30 adults. We had some people playing hockey while others simply enjoyed the skating and socializing.
We had quite a few people in Red and White or Canada clothing as well.
We played some games and had food and drinks.
We topped it off by singing Oh Canada and wishing Canada a Happy Birthday!!
All in all, what a great way to bring in a very special year!
Thanks to Canada Foundation 150th funding of $500 to support this spectacular event!

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
