We received a grant to purchase canning equipment and ingredients. First we practiced using the pressure canner in the late summer with fruit and vegetables bought in the Okanagan. Then we invited the neighbours over and, using a neighbours favourite recipe, canned salsa. We had fun working, eating and chatting. Many of the neighbours didn’t know each other well snd appreciated the opportunity to connect. They can use the pressure canner when they want. It was a fun event!
