We will be holding a celebration of our community of Upper Kitsilano at St. James Hall (10th & Trutch), on Wed. Oct. 26, from 7:00-9:00 PM. We are also celebrating the fact that St. James Hall has been saved for community use and will continue to serve as a hub, not only for our neighbourhood, but for all of Vancouver.
There will be interesting local speakers:
Dr. William Rees, UBC Professor emeritus and originator of the “ecological footprint” concept
Caroline Adderson, author & editor of the best-selling book, “Vancouver Vanishes”
There will be talented local musicians:
The Kitsaleles
Tête à Tête
Our event is also an opportunity to learn more about some of the groups active in Upper Kitsilano who will have information about their organizations. There will be delectable goodies donated by local businesses and baked by volunteers. So come along to mingle with Upper Kits neighbours, chat, learn and have a good time!

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
