We organized a monthly Games Night to welcome the community and to share some fun and food. While regular attendance was lower than we had hoped for, the people who did come enjoyed the evenings and were keen to come back when they could. These nights did achieve some of our goals – intergenerational interaction, cultural and language sharing, and providing a space for people to enjoy themselves without the interruption of technology. One of our participants said that it was lovely to have somewhere to go to so that they were not lonely on that night. We would consider Games Night to be a success, and plan on hosting some more in the future.

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
