“Curries And Conversations” was a cooking series hosted by Rashmi at Gordon Neighbourhood House in West End, Vancouver, Canada. Participants learnt to cook an Indian style Curry and had an opportunity to chat with neighbours… We ate food together and celebrated Life!!
We hosted a total of 5 sessions during August and September 2019. In the first session we made “Aloo Matar (Potato Peas) Curry” and “Zucchini Curry”. We had 9 people getting together to cook, chat and eat!
In the second session we had 15 people joining together to learn, laugh and share a meal!! We made “Aloo Gobi (Potato Cauliflower) Curry” and “Mixed Veggies Sabzi”. Roti was served with the curries, and it tasted awesome! The conversations were casual and filled with laughter 🙂 It felt so good to spend time together!!
In the third session we had 11 people join us for the evening! We cooked “Rajmah Masala” (Kidney Beans Curry), “Chana Masala” (Chickpeas Curry) and “Chawal” ( White Rice).
In the fourth session we had 11 people join us for the evening! We cooked “Shahi Paneer” (Rich Gravy Curry with Indian Cottage Cheese), “Aloo Methi” (Potato and Fenugreek Curry) and “Chapathi” (Indian Flat Bread). It was nice to share time with friends and to make new friends!!
In our fifth session we made “Dal Tadka”(Lentil Curry) and “Aloo Shimla Mirch Sabzi”(Potato Capsicum Curry) and “Aromatic Jeera Matar Rice”. We had 9 participants join us for this lovely session!!
Overall, it was an amazing cooking series! Participants loved it 🙂 You may find more pics from the event here:
