Our library project went very well. Autism can manifest as a social disconnect, leading to social isolation which as we all know is not great for positive mental health. This library project allowed children to see something permanent that they created which is helpful in developing engagement in our students. To say this project is a success is an understatement. The smile of a child that returns to Watermelon to see the book they left in the library from their last visit is… ‘chefs kiss’.
