Every year we have a block party in our community to celebrate the beginning of the school year, end of summer and good neighbourly fun. After a very rainy morning and hoping for a dry afternoon, we went ahead and celebrated with barbecue, potluck, sports and games (basketball, giant badminton, giant snakes & ladders, giant dice, corn hole).
We used some of our funds to buy clay pots, paint, paintbrushes and gemstone stickers so the kids had a special craft to work on then take home as either hanging ‘fairy houses’ or planters.
The kids also won prizes/gifts for winning little game matches.
