Collage art is a great way to bring people together through collaboration, individual imagination, creativity, and activism. On Sunday October 2017, the Pop-Up Collage tent was set up near the MountPleasant Community Garden in Dude Chilling Park. This event brought neighbors and community members together to make a collage, chat, sip on coffee and indulge in some snacks.
From its roots in European DaDaism (Hannah Hoch) to thought provoking and satirical works of Jesse Treece. Collage can be fun, satirical, and political.
Using recycle magazines, found objects and paper/metal/plastic/paint//old photos, participants created a visual way to tell a story and to express ideas. The day was a success, and I hope to make this a regular event in the Spring/Summer of 2018

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
