I hosted a block party in my back lane. my goal was to get neighbors to come together, meet, talk and feel a sense of connection. I had brochures on all sorts of safety for neighbors from police to citizen support services, fire hall no 2, discount from dominos pizza, juice boxes, bouncy castle for the kids, an art station with bubbles, felts, coloring pages, music, a neighborhood banner. the party was a success everyone loved it, the kids especially loved sitting in the fire truck. I appreciate being approved from NSG for my block party to have been a success. If I move back to the Burnaby area I am hoping another project would be approved to help connect people culturally and socially. what I learned was a block party is a lot of work and I will never try to do it again even though mine was successful.

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
