WESTPORT received funding from the Vancouver Foundation, Neighbourhood Small Grant Project to enable us to make our party an event that all WESTPORT owners, residents and their families can enjoy.
There were friendly activities for all ages, including face painting and games. Council supplied tables, decorations, fruit and vegetable platters, juice, water and pop, plates, utensils, napkins, and name tags.
People were asked to bring chairs or a blanket and something to be shared with a few neighbours (we all contribute something small like an appetizer, salad, main or dessert:  a casserole, chicken wings, cheeses, fancy breads, cookies and nibbles). Games included lawn darts (safe) croquet and bocce.
This event was a great time for us to meet new neighbours and reconnect with those we dont see often enough. Highlights of the event were delicious treats brought to share by participants and the water balloon toss

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
