This project workshop was hosted by a child, for the children in West End, Vancouver! This project is by Siddharth, a 4 year old DIY enthusiast and Mary, a 90 year old DIY enthusiast!! Siddharth's parents helped him with the organizing, set up and clean up for the workshop.
We invited all children to join us for a wonderful session to make amazing spa products like sugar scrubs and bath salts! Participants learnt new skills and had fun with their neighbours!!
This event was FREE. All materials were provided. Children took home what they made. Healthy light refreshments were provided. Children of all ages were welcome.
DIY activities are very good for children... it helped them to use their co-ordination skills, they learnt from each other, they learnt to share resources, it gave them the confidence to do things on their own, helped their creative juices flow, taught them to collaborate with others, encouraged them to share knowledge etc.
It was a wonderful workshop! We all had a great time seeing the two hosts (who are a generation apart) collaborate so nicely!! This workshop definitely connected and engaged neighbours from different
age groups! And we all had fun together!!
