“To commemorate the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan, making and eating zongzi on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month is a traditional festival for Chinese people.”
To commemorate the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan, it is a traditional Chinese festival to make and eat zongzi on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. We held this event on May 24, with over 30 participants, most of whom were middle-aged or elderly.
Everyone shared stories about the great poet Qu Yuan, who sacrificed his life by drowning in the river out of love for his country. Zongzi has become a symbol of respect and remembrance for him.
Through the process of making and sharing zongzi, the bonds among friends were strengthened. The younger participants skillfully wrapped the zongzi, while the elders admired and enjoyed the final results—it was truly a joyful and heartwarming scene.
This meaningful day brought us a lot of happiness.
