With a Neighbourhood Small Grant, we held a Work Bee to help restore the Sointula Community Riding Ring.
Our Work Bee welcomed about a dozen people over the course of the day, and despite the rainy weather, we had a great time cleaning up the site (removing garbage, weed-eating, clearing brush) and installing new fence boards/rails to replace the rotten ones.
Part of the NSG grant allowed us to provide a lunch for our hardworking volunteers which was a wonderful opportunity to sit down and learn about each other, make new connections, and build community.
Our community is so thankful for the opportunity to host this Work Bee and help restore the Island’s only public equestrian facility to its full glory!
