Our Gone to Seed Little Library “Seedy Gatherings” have been a great success this year and I plan to continue with our get togethers next year!
Interested gardeners and seed savers were invited to attend 4 events so far this growing season where we learned and practiced some seed cleaning techniques and packaged seeds to share in our community. We were also fortunate to be able to partner with MARS Wildlife Rescue and host 2 seed collecting and cleaning events that focused on native plant seeds and the importance of growing native plants for wildlife. We have plans in place for one more event this season focusing on how to winter sow native plants for beautiful plant starts in spring.
Thank you Neighbourhood Small Grants! Our Seedy Gatherings were well attended and everyone appreciated being together to chat and learn from each other’s gardening stories.
