What could be more fun than playing table games!? My project was to bring together the seniors in Port Hardy for an afternoon of games. Some of the games we played were new to us and some were from days gone by, which brought back great memories for many.
We had approximately 36 seniors take part in the day. We played a special bingo game four times so everyone could play and get a chance to take home a prize, this turned out to be one of the highlights of the afternoon. We enjoyed finger foods, and cream puffs yum! As the afternoon came to an end each person received a water bottle as a small “thank you” for participating.
As you can tell by the photos everyone had a great day socializing and playing the games. We had a lot of laughs and a wonderful time. Thank you for giving me the grant to make this happen for our community, everyone is excited to do something again in the future.
Planning: In order to plan this I created a poster and reached out to the seniors in my area to see who would be interested. I created a signup sheet and had people add their names so I could tell how many would be coming. Once I knew there was interest I purchased the food and I had a few friends come on the day to help me set up.
