Thanks to the Neighbourhood Small Grants, we were able to expand on our little library to add a selection of seeds as well as a storage system to keep them dry and viable. A bench was added to enable visitors to the library to peruse books and seeds in comfort The area around the library was widened to allow cars to turn around.
We harvested seeds from our garden, purchased some interesting seeds and filed them in our new system for the seeds. We also hosted an open house with hot dogs and hot chocolate to introduce users to the seed library.
The book portion has been very well used over the past year and we look forward to the increase in neighbours using the seed portion in the spring when planting is at its peak.
