This was our third year doing Steveston Bubbles- a project that was part community-building, part community art project. Our assignment: make a ton of homemade giant bubble juice, buy a bunch of giant bubble wands, get ice cream buckets, watch the weather for perfect evenings (for Golden Hour!), let our followers know on Instagram @stevestonbubbles, and set up in a busy park- Garry Point in Steveston. Then we let the magic happen! People gather to watch the sunset, some to take photos and many more to play with and make giant bubbles. It is pretty magical. I encourage others to try something similar. It has been a fabulous way to bring people together, create a sense of community over a shared activity, and create lasting memories!
