~~This was the first event to be held in the Highbury Tower garden, where most of the guests had never been. Despite some unpromising weather reports, it turned out to be a beautiful day. Invitations went out to council members at our two nearest neighbouring stratas – which brought two guests came from another Highbury Street building.
Our conversations revealed how helpful it is to have contacts in the neighbourhood so that concerns can be shared. One neighbour brought his contact list so that he could put faces to people whose names he had only seen on paper.
We all enjoyed being outside, having coffee, tea and cookies; the youngest explored the rest of the gardens. Afterwards, some residents sent their regrets – they had been to a competing attraction – the Point Grey Fiesta.
