The Buttertubs Carnival began with great excitement and anticipation. We kicked off the day with a decorated scooter and walker contest before moving indoors for a variety of carnival games. Residents enjoyed playing 12 different games, with winners earning tickets for our grand prize draws.
Throughout the day, participants also took part in a scavenger hunt and tested their guessing skills by estimating how many pretzels, peanuts, and cheese puffs were in the jars.
By lunchtime, more than 65 residents had joined the festivities. Hot dogs were flying off the grill, and everyone enjoyed a fun barbecue lunch. Of course, ice cream was a crowd favourite and the perfect treat to top off the meal.
The carnival concluded with the much-anticipated prize draws, bringing an exciting end to a wonderful day. Everyone had a fantastic time, and the event was a tremendous success.
Thanks to the generous support of the Nanaimo Neighbourhood Grant Program, we were able to host this special carnival for our residents. For some, it was the first time they had experienced a fun-filled carnival event like this, making the day even more meaningful.
