Beta Sigma Phi is a ladies friendship organization. Our motto is Life, Learning and Friendship. My project was to connect with members who live on their own in the hopes of bringing a little smile on their face by providing a “feel good” package and to be able to have a short social distanced chat to see how they are doing during the long self isolating days. The most difficult part of the planning was finding items to put into the packages as there are purchasing limits on a lot of staple food items. In the end, I chose mostly non-perishable “luxury type” food items such as cookies, jam, tea, chocolates, etc. which had no limits as I wanted each package to be identical. When I was delivering the packages, the ladies were genuinely thrilled, most appreciative and quite surprised. I loved being able to see my sorority sisters even if it was only for a very short time and to get a long distanced hug.
