With the help of Neighbourhood Small Grants, Kris Wellstein hosted a very successful workshop last spring to share her knowledge about rainwater harvesting with her neighbours on Quadra Island! The workshop was well attended and a great success.
Quadra Builders attended and brought with them examples of some of the supplies needed to set up for harvesting rainwater. Quadra Island’s Fire Smart Expert talked to the group about pumping systems. A visitor from Ucluelet also spoke about the value of rainwater harvesting for their community.
The workshop was an opportunity for people already collecting rainwater and those newly interested in collecting rainwater to learn and share ideas about how to harvest rainwater – and we all know how important our water supply is today and how important it is to use what we have wisely.
