2016 Multicultural Creative Writing Festival project, organized through the support of Culture Days, BC Culture Days, City of Richmond, Vancouver Foundation, Richmond Cares Richmond Gives, WS Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society and Richmond Public library. We hosted this event on September 30th from 6pm to 9pm at Richmond Public Library. Around 70 people attended and more than 20 participants made a speech and/or read their original writings. It was a very successful event through a lot of volunteers’ contribution:
The participants are from various cultural background, including but not limited to Europe, Asia, North America, etc. Around 20 people read their original writings in their own preferable languages include English, French, Heidi, Mandarin, Cantonese, etc.
Our Culture Days experience was a very positive experience, and it is something we will do again next year hopefully.
At the end of 2016 Multicultural Creative Writing Festival, we sent each writer and sponsor one copy of the published book A Feast for the Mind and Heat – Multicultural Creative Writing Collection 2015 as our appreciation.
Through the event we had last year and this year, we directly and indirectly reached out thousands and hundreds of people, shared our passion of creative writing with various age groups and we had a lot of fun to celebrating our cultural diversity.
