Five members of the neighbourhood planned the event, food, set up, and grab-and-go bag sample display. 40 neighbours attended and enjoyed lively topics of conversation including the dry, hot summer, water wells, and preparing for emergency evacuation. The Comox Valley Regional District provided packages of booklets including a sign and whistle for each home.
It was a beautiful afternoon where no one wanted to leave, we all enjoyed each other’s company plus the tea, coffee, and lots of yummy treats. Thanks to the Campbell River Community Foundation and Neighbourhood Small Grants for making it possible for our community to feel a little safer if faced with an emergency.
