There are a lot of talented folks in my area, and with the help of NSG I organized a backyard event for about 35 poeple. They got to listen to, and see presentations by, a singer, a Syilx storyteller, a wood carver, a historian, two painters, and a museum curator. In spite of my trepidations about the weather and my aging powerpoint projector, things went quite well. People got to mingle, munch and sip in between presentations. I borrowed a large tent from the local Credit Union, which was a challenge to erect, but it served us very well. I confess losing a bit of sleep the night before the event, but in retrospect I am very glad I made the effort to organize and host this event. More pics of the event are available upon request.
