Our team hosted a summer BBQ for our neighbours in our 54-suite building, to try to foster a positive sense of community, and help people get to know one another better. It was attended by over 20 residents. Several residents helped in the preparation (shopping, organizing, food prep, etc.), and a lot of people helped to clean up afterwards. We all agreed that it was a positive experience that we’d like to do on an annual basis. Since we don’t have any indoor common areas that can support neighbourhood get-togethers, we’ll have to wait until good weather in the summer to host again. Hopefully, next year, more people will attend, and we can get more people to help with the preparations.
Hosting these events is important to create a positive living experience for our residents.
