” Research shows that, people who spend time to handle flowers or receive flowers feel less depressed, anxious, and agitated too. While we are still living under a global pandemic, we are all facing new stress at different levels, be it due to brunt of adjustments forced on households, schools, work, and financial etc. We have put up two flower workshops on zoom, one was to make a wrist corsage with fresh flowers, and another one was to make an arrangement with dried flowers. We all had a fun time and most important of all, they are all proud of what they have made! We learned about color coordination, different ways to arrange flowers, the skills to handle fresh and dried flowers, and what I like most is having this platform to get to know each other and make some new friends too. We all need some extra cheer at different points of time, and what’s better than having the city’s support to allow us to share our gifts while building a caring and supportive community at the same time. I look forward to having more opportunities to connect with different neighbors and new friends in a foreseeable future!”
