Our NSG project is called “Bed Weaving”. During the summer one of our volunteers, Carlos, painted many wooden panels with students at summer camp. The panels reflect art and images of salmon and each has a wooden stick attached. They still need a layer of spray to make them waterproof and after that they will be installed in the community garden around the gardening beds. The celebration of this art took place on Oct. 7th, the same day as our Wild Salmon Caravan and included the storytelling of the Three Sisters (Corn, Squash and Beans) by Felicia. It was an amazing event with lots of great food made with the 3 sisters and fantastic donated salmon from the Fish Counter. Everyone had a very enjoyable time.
