We applied for a NSG to help celebrate Pride month in the Boundary Region. A group of community and youth put together the 3rd annual Boundary Pride Event in Gyro Park, Grand Forks on June 1st.
A wide range of the community attended this free celebration. Each year it has grown bigger, both in community contribution and numbers of participants.
The Public Library, Public Health, SD51 , The local SAGA youth group all put on booths or activities. We had many people volunteer their time. There was music, crafts, prizes , speakers and a dance troupe.
There were a bunch of donations that were not foreseen, so we had money left over to put on a second event. On June 22 , we had the “Paint your Pride” a free event at the Christina Lake Welcome Centre. It was put on by the CLAAS and featured a fun “paintathon”, “mocktails” and various games. It was well attended by young and old.
