Have you heard of Buddy Up? It’s an innovative community-driven skill-sharing platform that is literally popping up all over Vancouver! Each Buddy Board helps residents find buddies with whom they can share knowledge, skills, and even items. At this event, you can make a board for your favourite community hang-out spot, for FREE!
This July, Village Vancouver Main Street Neighbourhood is hosting a workshop about the concept in order to help spread the word and spread the Buddy Boards. Come on out to learn more, imagine how Buddy Boards could benefit your neighbourhood, and have some snacks with your neighbours!
To build a board:
1. Get permission from a local organization (community centre, neighbourhood house, coffee shop…)
2. Email mainstvillagevancouver@gmail.com and connect us with someone responsible for the space you have chosen
3. Buddy Up! will work with you to plan a design and make a materials list
4. We will provide the materials free of charge, just invite some neighbours to help you out!
