Have you heard of Buddy Up? It’s an innovative community-driven skill-sharing platform that is literally popping up all over Vancouver! Each Buddy Board helps residents find buddies with whom they can share knowledge, skills, and even items.
This June, Village Vancouver Main Street Neighbourhood is hosting an informative workshop about the concept in order to help spread the word. Come on out to learn more, imagine how Buddy Boards could benefit your neighbourhood, and meet some neighbours! We will also be demonstrating the process of building a board and could use some extra hands.
“Our city is full of incredible people with amazing skills and there is no limit to the things we can do together if we just reach out and connect with each other. Sharing skills and learning from each other is a fun and easy step towards greater resiliency on a city-wide scale.” -Buddy Up organizers
When: Tuesday June 5th, 6-8pm
Where: Little Mountain Neighbourhood House
Who: Everyone is welcome! It’s free!
Please RSVP on eventbrite. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/buddy-up-workshop-part-1-tickets-46264167370
This is part 1 of a 2-part workshop series. In July, we will host a Buddy Board-making workshop and we will need YOU to identify a community organization or space in your neighbourhood so that you can build your own! Come to part 1 to learn what the project is all about and how to share the idea with others.
We are very grateful to the Vancouver Foundation for awarding us a Neighbourhood Small Grant to support this project.
