Members of the New West Moms Group in Facebook took over the Burger Heaven Community Garden space this year. It was an opportunity for us to connect in person rather than just online, learn about and experience growing a vegetable garden, and give our children another way to connect with nature. Burger Heaven generously allows us to use a raised garden plot in their parking lot and store supplies in their space. We had a planting event and continued to get together as a group through the summer to weed and do other garden maintenance. We also shared in the produce and talked about the items we made and shared recipes.
