We had a fabulous Canada Day breakfast for everyone on our city block (and a few invited guests!). The weather was spectacular–one of the warmest we have ever had. We had approximately 45 people attend, ranging in age from 1 year to 84 years old. Our neighbours brough their own plates and cutlery and we provided everything else–waffles, sausages, bacon, english muffins, muffins, yogurt, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, juice. We even had maple leaf cookies for a breakfast dessert! The yard was decorated in Canadian flags and posters, there was sidewalk chalk to ‘draw your favourie things about Canada’ , bubble blowing, some red/white paper crafts and even an area in the shade to play a game of cards! It was a great way to kick off the summer season and several of us walked over to Queen’s Park right after lunc to participate in the activities over there. Really appreciated the monetary assistance in hosting a breakfast for 45 people! THANK YOU!!
