Thanks to your generous grant, Fernie’s First Annual Invitational Lawn Games Showdown was a resounding success! Held on a sunny day in July, the event brought together over 30 participants and community members, all dressed in their finest croquet-inspired attire. The vibrant energy of the day was contagious as players of all ages and abilities joined in friendly competition across a variety of games, including bocce ball, croquet, corn hole, and more.
Laughter rang out across the park as new friendships were formed, and old acquaintances reconnected. The games created a lighthearted and engaging atmosphere, encouraging everyone to interact and enjoy the summer sunshine. The festivities culminated in a free community barbecue, where participants and spectators came together to share a meal and stories from the day.
This event was a shining example of how recreation and shared experiences can strengthen community bonds. We are immensely grateful for the grant support that made this day possible. It allowed us to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and entirely free event that truly brought people together.
Thank you for helping us foster connection, fun, and a sense of community in Fernie. This memorable day wouldn’t have been possible without your support, and we look forward to building on this success in the future!
