Sandwiched between two weeks of 30°-ish weather was a day of 90% chance of thunderstorms.  That didn’t dampen the spirits of a small Strata community in Prince George. Seven families opened their garages or set up a little tent cover to host a multi-unit garage sale.  We met neighbours who had moved in a few months ago, but whose shift work prevented them from meeting neighbours.
Afterwards the sale,  more folks joined us for the BBQ, originally planned for outside, but the torrential downpour had us switch to opening our Unit.  17 people crammed into our dining area!  Our living room was open too, outfitted with TV trays, but people were delighted to squish in together for the adventure, and they all stayed in one room!  Ranging from 7 months old to 80+, a few neighbours had never met each other, with some living in the community for over 30 years! They’re already looking forward to next year. ☺️ With many on fixed incomes, they were delighted that we went from a potluck to having food provided from the NSG grant. Thank you to the Vancouver Foundation Committee! 🙂
