We purchased gardening totes, several handheld (wooden handled) tools, gloves, spray bottles, and seeds. As promised, we have allowed access to the great community by leaving the tools in the shared shed pictured in the center of the poster.
The project was great for getting students outside and working in the community, interacting with other people from the greater community, and teaching them about gardening. We are finding challenges in providing regular water to our garden, but relationships with community members are helping in that regard. We have several more visits to the garden planned before the school year is up, but so far, a highlight has been seeing how students respond to and interact with other community gardeners.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to use these funds and thank you for your interest in small community-oriented projects. Keep up the great work!
